Many would consider Hyundai to be a novice in the sports car segment and rightly so- they are new to this field. The brand can’t be expected to deliver the best and be in competition with the high players for another couple of years. May be in the next decade, they will be one of the decent competitors.



Most would think the above things and would be wrong because it sure looks like Hyundai did their homework and only then came up with the 2007 Hyundai Tiburon. This sports car coupe base model comes in less than $17,000. Surprised? So were we. An unbelievable price for a sports car. But what is more unbelievable is that it actually is not a bad model at all and delivers more than it promises. The Tiburon is very new and is also a very big threat to the big boys. They better buckle up.

The car looks like a typical sports car- just what the market wants. The body is nice and rounded and gives an impression of being really smooth- which it is. The side lines are rakish in style- not so structured and it adds to the appeal of the sports car. Next up, let’s talk about the engine. It has a regular V6 engine and gives about 172 HP. Not bad at all. The suspension is really remarkable and the handling so smooth and easy, it beats the competition big time. The interiors are also done up in style. The indicators are all in a stylish blue light and the rear view makes you feel like you are in a sports car.

BMW M3 Concept: styled and tunned

The new version BMW M3 from the BMW MGmbH claims to be one of the most successful performance sports cars.

With advanced performance features including the eight-cylinder power unit, compared to its predecessor’s six-cylinder engine, the new BMW M3 has become the trendsetter of the modern era sports cars. The six-cylinder engine had won the ‘Engine of the Year’ award many times for its stunning performance on the roads. Thus, the new BMW M3 with its eight-engine capacity and power is ready to take over all the other models and set new records on the high.

The V8 has got a displacement of 3,999cc, and its maximum output value is 309kW/420hp. It has got the highest torque of 295 lb-ft and a top engine speed of 8,300rpm. Almost 85% of the engine’s maximum torque is available while maintaining a speed of 6,500 rpm, with a 251 lb-ft torque available from just 2,000 rpm. These factors contribute towards the reliability of this sports model, especially while climbing the winding hilly roads.
The weight of the new engine is another significant contributing factor towards its speed and power. The new M3 engine weighs just 445lb (202 kg), 33 pounds less than its predecessor, though it is provided with two additional cylinders.

The advanced features provided in the engine improve efficiency of the engine multifold. It has got an upgraded engine control unit that will coordinate the entire functions of the engine. Another feature, the ion flow technology, detects any accidental combustion in the engine by monitoring the cylinders with the help of the spark plugs and thus senses any unusual sparking tendency in the engine. An additional Brake Energy Regeneration feature takes care of the engine current management.
