2007 Mercedes-Benz Brabus SV12 S Biturbo Coupe

2007 Mercedes-Benz Brabus SV12 S Biturbo Coupe

730 bhp of power, 974 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 211 mph. With the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo coupe, based on the latest Mercedes CL 600 model, Brabus presents one of the world’s fastest and most powerful coupes.

At the heart of this exclusive automobile is the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo engine. It is based on the turbocharged Mercedes 600 twelve-cylinder engine and represents the most powerful street-legal V12 engine in the world. Installing a special Brabus crankshaft with longer stroke, combined with a bigger bore and correspondingly sized forged pistons, increases displacement from 5.5 to 6.3 liters. Further engine modifications also include precision-machining the cylinder heads and fitting them with four special camshafts.

In addition the engine peripherals are also modified extensively. The modifications include special exhaust manifolds, two larger turbochargers, a high-efficiency intercooler and a high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts and low back pressure. Extensive bench tests determined the new programming for the engine electronics that not only maximizes power yield but also ensures that the engine meets stringent Euro IV emission limits.

Performance figures of the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo displacement engine speak volumes: A rated power output of 730 bhp at 5,100 rpm is just as extraordinary as a peak torque of 974 lb-ft at just 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 812 lb-ft.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a modified five-speed automatic transmission. The optionally available Brabus locking differential optimizes traction. All Brabus drivetrain elements are operated with ARAL high-performance lubricants.

The Brabus S V12 S Biturbo coupe is not just at the top of its league in terms of the power output; it is also one of the fastest street-legal cars of its kind. 0 – 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, 125 mph after just 11.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 211 mph are all very impressive.

The enormous performance of the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo coupe places exceptionally high demands on the aerodynamic-enhancement parts that were developed in the wind tunnel. The sophisticated shape of the Brabus front apron reduces lift on the front axle and improves engine and front brake cooling due to its large air inlet. Integrated fog lamps and high beams lend the car a characteristic appearance and further improve active safety by optimizing illumination of the road.

The Brabus rocker panels optimize the airflow along the sides and feature integrated entrance lights for safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark.

The Brabus rear apron sports custom-tailored cutouts for the Brabus quad sport exhaust. Three LED lights integrated into the apron are also activated via the keyless fob. An understated rear spoiler rounds out the sophisticated Brabus aerodynamics concept, and reduces lift on the rear axle for further improved directional stability at high speeds.

The enormous performance of the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo coupe is kept safely in check at all times thanks to custom-tailored solutions for tires, suspension and brakes. Among them are Brabus Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters of 18, 19, 20 or 21 inches. The largest tire/wheel combination features Brabus Monoblock VI and E wheels in sizes 9Jx21 in front and 10.5Jx21 on the rear axle. The largest corresponding tires are size 265/30 ZR21 in front and size 295/30 ZR21 in the rear. Brabus recommends Pirelli and Yokohama high-performance tires.

The Brabus module for the standard ABC suspension is specifically calibrated to these high-performance tires, and lowers the ride height of the two-door by about an inch. For further optimized active safety the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo coupe can be equipped with the Brabus high-performance brake system. Maximum fade-free stopping power is provided on the front axle by 380 x 36 millimeter discs and 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers. The rear features 355 x 28 millimeter discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers.

Brabus also fulfills any requests imaginable when it comes to exclusive interior options. The list of products ranges from scuff plates with illuminated Brabus logo or an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel to an exclusive customized interior crafted from soft yet durable Brabus Mastik leather and the finest Alcantara.

Mercedes-Benz CLK Sport Edition

Mercedes-Benz CLK Sport Edition

With its sporty appearance and sumptuous level of appointments, the immediately available Sport Edition is a new highlight among the Coupés and Cabriolets of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class. 18-inch light-alloy wheels in an exclusive design, AMG styling features in the exterior and bi-xenon headlamps as standard give this special model a particularly distinctive appearance. The sporty, exclusive atmosphere of the interior is especially characterised by the grippy AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel, aluminium-look sports pedals and special velour floor mats.
The letter combination CLK has denoted excitement and driving pleasure for many years. The new "Sport Edition" special model now makes the Coupés and Cabriolets of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class even more desirable. Both externally and in the interior, the Sport Edition further upgrades the CLK models and makes them even more attractive and dynamic.

The exciting design of the CLK-Class is accentuated by muscular AMG styling features for an even more dynamic appearance. These include a front apron with more pronounced contours, as well as the rear apron and side skirts which typify AMG models. Large, 18-inch light-alloy wheels in a new, six twin-spoke design (front 225/40 R 18, rear 255/35 R18) further enhance the sporty appearance and contribute to driving pleasure. The same applies to the perforated front brake discs. The brake callipers of Sport Edition models bear the lettering "Mercedes-Benz".

The special CLK Sport Edition models are equipped with bi-xenon headlamps including dynamic beam control, cornering lights with an integral foglamp function and a headlamp washer system as standard. The Active Light System is also available as optional equipment. A large, chrome-plated exhaust tailpipe and a special rear silencer provide a sonorous, sporty exhaust note.

The new Sport Edition is based on the already sporty configuration of the luxurious AVANTGARDE design and equipment line. In models equipped with an automatic transmission, an AMG sports steering wheel with upper sections of perforated leather and steering wheel shift paddles ensures an even more sporty touch. Mercedes C-class Kicherer tuning

Mercedes C-class Kicherer tuning

Those who, right from the start, wish for more performance than the standard can offer may now directly choose the magically reinforced C 350. The KICHERER K 3.5 CS’s remarkable performance range lies around 306hp and 380Nm (the series offers 272hp at 350 Nm).

Power even for diesel engines

Ingenious engineers increased the C320 CDI’s engine performance by 46 to 270hp, while the maximum torque bounced to 600Nm. This special portion of extra force is available even for smaller diesel engines. The new seven-league boots boost the swiftness to 6.9 seconds while the maximum speed is nothing less than 250 km/h. At such a speed, however, the passenger feels more like on a magic carpet ride – sledgelike the KICHERER-CS glides along the overtaking lane. For the sake of equity, beautiful stainless steel sports exhausts are available for each engine type and remind you, decently droning, that, after all, you are not a magic carpet rider floating through the air.

Full-format 19“ wheels inside their arches offer an excellent wheel grip to any admirer of the C-Class. The extraordinarily light and handmade wheels with the modest name of RS-1 are equipped in accordance with the respective engine type with tyres of the adequate size. The Mercedes Magicians in Stockach give you the opportunity to choose to your heart’s content – or to your account’s extent – from a great range of specially adjusted sports chassis, heightadjustment sets and sports stabilisers.

Design package and leather

The breathtakingly extravagant exterior is embraced by a rear diffuser harmonised with the rear apron. Consequently, the interior is characterised by luxury class materials such as high-grade Alcantara leather, precious wood coated with piano lacquer as well as carbon fitments perfectly matching the sports steering wheel, the aluminium pedals and the stainless steel door sill protectors. In comparison, a magic carpet is just a picnic rug. This here is true magic in deed!

Mercedes SL New Facelift Spyphoto

Spy Shot: Mercedes-Benz SL gets a facelift - major overhaul in 2013

While it won’t be until 2013 until the Mercedes-Benz SL receives a major overhaul, this new spy shot of the Mercedes-Benz SL shows that it will get a facelift to the front fascia in the upcoming model year. The facelift of the next Mercedes-Benz SL will take design cues from the Mercedes-Benz CLS as Mercedes deviates from its dual-circular headlamps look.

Mercedes-Benz has already changed the dual-circular headlamps look on the 2008 C-Class and photo renderings show the same for the next E-Class.

Mercedes Class C 4Matic

Merecedes-Benz just dumped a whole lot of details about the new US-spec C-Class in our laps, including data and pics. You can read all of the stats on the next page, but the important bits are right here. There will be three models initially (all 4-door sedans), including the C300, C300 4Matic, and C350. Each has a V6 and will be the same shape and size, but the differences are revealed in their names.

The C300 and C300 4Matic will sport a 3.0 liter V6 with 228 hp @ 6,000, and 221 lb.-ft. from 2,700 – 5,000 rpm.

The C300 is rear drive while the 4Matic adds M-B's unique all-wheel-drive system. Those will be available with your choice of 6-speed stick or 7-speed auto trannies. The C350 adds 5 liters of displacement and power goes up to 268 hp @ 6,000 and 258 lb.-ft. available between 2,400 – 5,000 rpm. This one comes with a 7-speed automatic only. Although this 4th generation of Cs is larger than its forebearers, weight is about the same as the previous gen.

There will also be C-Class Sport models (shown above) that feature AMG-inspired styling, including the attractive grille-mounted three-point star badge. The regular models will feature a more traditional grille like their euro counterparts. Sport models will also receive additional AMG cladding, twin-spoke 17-inch wheels and ride height lowered on a sport-tuned suspension.

Wagons, coupes and diesels are also rumored to be in the pipeline, but for New York and the U.S. market, it's just these three sedans for now. Not that there's anything wrong with that. One other number we haven't seen yet is price. We'll have lots of live shots from New York as soon as the press conference ends.

CLK 63 AMG Black Series using Formula One Technologies

Mercedes CLK 63 AMG

The new CLK 63 AMG Black Series is based on the Official F1 Safety Car, the high-performance AMG vehicle that has been providing Formula One safety since 2006. The coupe, optimized for the racing circuit, is powered by an AMG 6.3-liter V8 with its performance boosted to 500 bhp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Top-rank handling is assured by the sophisticated AMG threaded suspension with 19-inch AMG forged wheels, new steering and the generously dimensioned AMG high-performance brake system with its composite disks. Visually, too, the CLK 63 AMG Black Series clearly shows its descent from the Official F1 Safety Car: its striking front apron with large cooling intakes, flared wheel arches, diffusor-type rear apron and carbon-fiber airflow breakaway edge, all demonstrate the car’s sporting pedigree.

The new CLK 63 AMG Black Series is technically and visually oriented towards the Official F1 Safety Car and thus addresses all sports-car enthusiasts who value high competitiveness. An output upgraded by 25 bhp accelerates the CLK 63 AMG Black Series from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, a few tenths of a second faster than the standard model with 475 bhp. The top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph (300 km/h).

Redesigned Intake and Exhaust Systems

Mercedes-AMG engineers achieved the increase in power by completely redesigning the intake and exhaust systems. The high-revving, naturally-aspirated AMG engine, with its 6208 cc displacement, gets its fresh air via larger-dimensioned intake ducts. The new AMG sports exhaust system with full-length twin pipes stands out with its unmistakable, pleasant AMG V8 sound. Together with a newly calibrated engine control unit, these measures ensure not only efficient load change behavior, but also let this eight-cylinder unit respond to the accelerator with even greater alacrity.

Power is transmitted through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC. Compared to the standard CLK 63 AMG, the rear-axle ratio of the pur sang special series has been made about six percent shorter – to confer even more agility in acceleration in all speed ranges. For maximum sporting dynamics, the transmision has only the “M” and “S” driving programs; the comfort-oriented “C” is deleted. The driver can switch between the seven gears by using the AMG aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel, while an indicator in the instrument cluster shows the gear selected at any given time.

Racing Inspiration

The visual appearance of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series shows its racing inspiration. The redesigned front end is descended 1:1 from the Official F1 Safety Car, and its generously dimensioned cooling-air intakes hint at the sophisticated cooling measures. For greater stamina under extreme operating conditions, a larger main radiator and an optimized power steering cooler, as well as an additional transmission cooler are built into the left front wheel arch.

The front fenders are made of high-strength and yet lightweight carbon-fiber composite material. On their flank, a “6.3 AMG” badge hints at the exceptional power of the naturally-aspirated V8. Redesigned side skirts extend to the broad rear fenders, which are in turn connected by a newly developed rear apron. The components taken over from the Official F1 Safety Car include not only the carbon diffusor fins and the integrated chromed dual tailpipes of the AMG sports exhaust system, but also a cooler for the heavily stressed rear axle.

Adjustable AMG Sports Suspension for Best Track Performance

Like its counterpart in the Formula One World Championship, the CLK 63 AMG Black Series also has a newly developed and quite special AMG sports suspension. The adjustable threaded suspension guarantees optimum road contact and maximum precision. For competitive driving, the driver can create his personal suspension setup: not only the level, but also the compression and rebound stages of the shock absorbers, front-axle track and camber, and rear-axle track are adjustable.

Interior with RACETIMER

The transfer of technology from motor sport, a Mercedes-AMG tradition fostered over decades, is equally evident in the interior of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series. This dedicated two-seater sports touring car not only dispenses with rear seats, but with its bucket-type seats, rich carbon trim and black headliner, displays the functional atmosphere of a true racing car – and thus documents 40 years of Mercedes-AMG motor sport history.

The carbon-embedded AMG instrument cluster with its 200 mph scale furnishes an exclusive ambience and high functionality at the same time. The AMG main menu in the cluster is perfectly tailored to serious racing: it shows the current gear engaged, as well as an upshift recommendation in “M” mode, or alternatively engine oil temperature or battery voltage, as well as the RACETIMER. This last function enables the driver to determine his lap times on a closed course. The RACETIMER stores the time of the fastest lap, average and maximum speeds, and the length of the laps.

Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz CLK AMG Black Series
The last CLK DTM built by Mercedes AMG division was limited to a production of 100 cars, but they probably had orders for more than that. This is why AMG has apparently decided to build a new CLK DTM version now.

And since the first series was a limited edition, its successor needed a new design. Here are photos of a test car during high speed testing at Nürburgring. Not looking as wild as the first edition, the newcomer looks somewhat more discrete but still powerful.

Expect about the same horsepower as the first generation with the new 6.3 litre V8 delivering between 580 and 600 hp. AMG Chief, Volker Mornhinweg said in an recent interview that they might give the new 6.3 liter engine turbo and the new CGI fuel injection technology, thus a perfect engine for the AMG CLK DTM.

The pictures are showing an almost undisguised prototype, except for some camouflage on the air outlets in the front fenders

The new CLK DTM is expected to cost around 230,000 Euros, just like its predecessor. Not really a bargain, but for that money the dedicated buyer gets a car that accelerates to 200 km/h faster than he will be able to pronounce its name.

Surprise!

Mercedes Carlsson CK35

carlsson ck35

With the new C Class, Mercedes Benz continues the successful story of this compact executive car. Nevertheless, Carlsson has already devoted considerable attention to the saloon resulting in a new automotive dimension in both visual and dynamic terms. The company achieved these goals through a variety of measures including elegant aerodynamic parts, a performance kit, new wheels and improved interior appointments. The result is a vehicle that meets the highest expectations of driving pleasure and active safety – not a dazzler but a car with race-track engineering that meets the promise of looks and paper form.

Race-proven CK35 performance kit

Carlsson has been a successful competitor in the VLN Long Distance Trophy at the Nurburgring for many years. At the world’s most demanding race-track for both driver and technology, Carlsson tests parts that are later to be found in its range of parts and accessories. The company currently uses the CK35 performance kit based on the 3.5 litre V6 for long-distance racing in an SLK. In other words, every Carlsson CK 35 customer participates in Carlsson’s racing success. "The concept of taking developments ’from the race track to the highway’ applies to the CK35 more than any other engine", says CEO Rolf Hartge proudly explaining how this piece of high-tech engineering has been breathed on to ensure durability and great efficiency.

Developed in motor racing for absolute reliability and superior performance, the CK35 kits give customers the assurance that they, too, could win races with this engine. The Carlsson unit produces 217 kW / 295 bhp and presses maximum torque of 385 Nm onto the crankshaft.
Also part of the CK35 kit, the stainless-steel sports rear silencer with four oval tailpipes hints clearly but not too loudly at the increased engine output. Carlsson also modifies and significantly improves the engine’s electronic control system while a sports air filter ensures that the V6 has no trouble in taking a deep breath.

The increased output coupled with effortless power delivery result not only in a better paper form but also significantly improved flexibility and, therefore, greater driving pleasure. The top speed of the CK35 is 270 km/h. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just six seconds, four tenths faster than the standard car. At the same time, the sound emitted from the four tail pipes is certain to set the pulse of every racing enthusiast.

Carlsson aerodynamic kit: the dynamic and striking alternative

Without making the car look flashy, Carlsson fits an aerodynamic kit that not only reduces lift at the same time as making the car more elegant and powerful looking but also lends an individual touch and, of course, the sporting flair so typical of Carlsson. The aerodynamic kit consists of a front apron, a diffuser-look apron at the rear, side mouldings and a rear spoiler that stabilises the car at higher speeds. In this connection, too, Carlsson underscores its close association with motor racing. All parts are made of high-grade PUR and, in addition to fitting exactly, distinguished by top surface quality. The kit also includes an electro-polished grille insert and double-headlight units with fog and driving lights for improved light output and, therefore, greater safety. These parts are also available separately for fitment in combination with the standard bumper.

Suspension components for optimum road-holding and a more dynamic look

In common with all suspension components, the sports springs used to lower the car also are derived from motor racing. Their racing equivalents have been well proven in thousands of kilometres around the Nurburgring race track. For Carlsson customers, they not only offer significantly improved handling but also give the car a more dynamic look.

B for Brilliant Edition - exclusive wheels from Carlsson

Wheels are the easiest and most expressive way of giving a car a personal touch. If they should also combine high technological qualities with sporting elegance, then Carlsson 1/11 Brilliant Edition wheels are the obvious choice. The front wheels measure 8.5x19" and are fitted with 225/35 ZR19 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres while the rear wheels come in the dimension 10x19" and 255/30 tyres. These single-piece, 11-spoke wheels are characterised by an exclusive surface finish unparalleled in the Mercedes Benz tuning sector. The polished brilliant silver rim base and the painted brilliant silver centre, which makes the wheel virtually unmatched in visual terms, form an interesting contrast.

Unadulterated luxury inside

For the interior of the CK35, Carlsson uses on the very best materials that turn the C Class into a small S Class. The very attractive yet restrained components, which can be combined in accordance with customer wishes, make sitting in the car a great pleasure. With the ergonomically designed Carlsson sports steering wheel in leather / Alcantara or leather / wood, the driver always has a firm and extremely pleasant grip on the car.

The FAB DESIGN frontskirt forms a unit together with the fender and takes up the line guidance of the SL. A big opening placed in the middle provides a lot of fresh air for the coolers. The left and rightside intakes serve a lot of cooling for the brakes. Despite the enlargment of the fender, the harmony and elegance of the basic vehicle is fully preserved. The side openings with the integrated flippers below the salient enlargment act as additional cooling elements. The lightly overstanding sideskirts at the door bottom edge make the SL look not only sporty, but also dynamical and optically lower. Besides its creates a runing transition to the clearly enlarged wheel housing of the Roadster. The cooling intakes on the rear fender provides a lot of ventilation, for a sufficient cooling for the back brakesystem.

The sophisticated and unique design of the rear bumper convert the SL next to the efficient aerodynamic also a breath taking optic. The lightly supported fundation of the spoiler produces an excellent downforce value. Lateral cooling slits reduce the whirlwind in the wheel house, at high speed.

Police Car Mercedes Brabus

If you stay in a country and you have many fast roads, you surely need some good patrol cars. And, if the Italians have a 640bhp Lamborghini Murcielargo LP640, is the time now for the Germans to show what a real police car means. So, they offered a Brabus, based on the Mercedes Benz CLS. Brabus Rocket set the record for the world’s fastest production saloon, by hitting 227.2 mph at the Nardo high speed bowl in Italy.

The car is used as a PR exercise, but the Rocket is very real and can be yours for £235,178. For this price you will get a great modified Mercedes V12, which starts life as a mere 5.5 litres in the S-Class. Brabus has also a couple of turbochargers and a performance exhaust system to ramp up the power to a 730 bhp. The peak torque is of 973 lb/ft, 5 speed automatic gearbox, accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds, 12 piston callipers grabbing on to enormous ceramic brakes and 19 inch alloy wheels.
